What if you bought CASH.TO near the end of the month?
When buying dividend-paying stocks or ETFs like CASH.TO, there is usually what is called an ex-dividend date.
Put simply, if you buy the stock or ETF on this date, you may not receive the dividend until the next payment period.
For CASH.TO, its ex-dividend dates are generally at the end of the month, although it may come slightly earlier. So for example, if you were to buy CASH.TO on August 31st, 2023, you would not receive dividend payouts on September 8th, 2023 and you will have to wait until some time between October 5th–10th instead.
